Like the other not obviously written by friends or family reviews, I bought the groupon and made my appointment online. Cool enough but no one to answer questions regarding the timing between other treatments at my dermatologist. I drove across town and then Lynette was late. She called me and accused me of being there on the wrong day, yelling at me so loud the other person who was there on the wrong day heard and got up and took off. Lynette was telling me that me and the other person needed to "work it out". HELLO, how hard is it to check your booking system and see the name of the correct client? This is not something that two clients need to be working out ourselves.
Lynette greeted me and took me back to her tiny closet in the cramped salon mall. I'm no stranger to the med spa and this was no med spa experience! She offended me to begin with by her fast talking and telling me she works for tips, tips are mandatory and if I don't agree I can leave. It was very offensive. She then told me the certificate I bought was garbage and not going to do anything ($350 value is garbage? I went to a top rated grad school and I don't make $350 in 15 minutes, especially for doing garbage) and tried to sell me more services, dermaplaning (this was included in the med spa services I have had before) and multiple treatments and she talks at a million miles per hour. It was really bad. I decided I did not want any services from her and as I tried to leave she continued to pitch me to buy skincare products with the most insultingly non-sequitur fallacy about how adobe is rocks and rocks are minerals and they keep houses and skin cool. Dafuq?
I left without letting her perform the garbage service on me and asked for a refund from Groupon. It appears this is the only way this business gets clients. Maybe it's time to re-think the insult people business model and look into offering a quality service through the coupon marketing model by pricing it at what you are comfortable performing the service for and then being less pushy about the up sells. Let the quality of the discount work be what sells people on coming back for more full price work, especially if full price is fair and honest.
