The staff is nice and attentive and the restaurant itself is clean and tidy. Personally I find La Prep to be somewhat overpriced but, eh, we live in a fast casual food world and this one is located in York University where the food seems to always be slightly more expensive or the portions slightly smaller than the same chain elsewhere.
I tried their croissant breakfast sandwich and was rather underwhelmed. Let me say it was NOT bad, it just was not memorable or very filling, one could even say somewhat bland. The croissant itself was really nice and flaky but was totally mangled by the sandwich making and wrapping process. When I first unwrapped the sandwich I thought they had turned it into a burrito! The egg was scaldingly hot but something in the sandwich was ice box freezing. Don't know if it was the cheese or the ham (although if I had not read the menu I would not have been able to tell you that there was either cheese or ham in the sandwich from taste alone. I know it was there because I saw it, it just added nothing to the flavour) but it made an unattractive contrast in your mouth with one bite searing the flesh off the roof of your mouth and the next one being the temperature of an ice cream cone.
I would go back for another croissant but JUST the croissant.
