  • I've been meaning to write this review for a while. I have been there so many times and am totally addicted. Although I live in a neighbourhood near three other gelato places (one on Mount Pleasant and two on Bayview), Gelato Simply Italian is the only one I've visited since it opened. Every time I go, there is something new. Sometimes some of the flavours are extremely unusual. Yesterday, it was balsamic-beet. I passed on that one. If you want to be adventurous with your selection without being THAT adventurous, try the chocolate chili pepper. It's awesome. I also particularly enjoy the dark chocolate orange, ameretto, tartuffo, black licorice, banana, white chocolate coconut, and Zuppa Inglese (English trifle with sponge cake soaked in liquor). All of the flavours are labelled in Italian, so you will not always know what's what, but part of the fun is guessing, and of course the staff will always help you out.
