I made my appointment on Zocdoc about two weeks ago and the office called me multiple times. Yet they failed to mention that if I had a general physicians referral I would get a cheap copay. Which is about a $45 difference. If they could have told me that earlier I could have saved my time and gotten the referral rather than trying to look up a doctor on my own. I had even called to verify my insurance with them and they never mentioned anything about needing a referral. (You don't need one, but only if you want to save money). I'd rather not bother even coming back here now because of this experience. This drive was out of my way but I wanted to go to an good doctor but I guess I won't have that opportunity anymore.
Reception also repeatedly asked me to pronounce my name because it's Asian and spelt differently. She assumed they spelt it wrong because of the way I pronounce it. Word to the wise, it's extremely irritating to have to continue repeat your name for someone just because they want to know how to say it. Especially after I told them my preferred name. Many Asian go through this and people should just respect that they prefer one name and not be asked to say another name for entertainment because it's spelled weird or looks different than Americanized names.
