Heard a lot about Halal Guys, so when I was driving past Christown Mall and saw the sign, I had to stop and give them a try. They are located in the SW corner of the parking lot, across from Target and next to Chase Bank.
I ordered a gyro and chicken combo.
The gyro and chicken meat were both good. Nicely seasoned, hot and fresh, without being dried out. The rice was okay. Not exceptionally good or bad. The salad was a little boring. I appreciated the kalamata olives, but some sliced cucumber would make it perfect. I wasn't crazy about the pita bread. It was grilled on the flat top and then sliced, but it seemed a little soggy. I also got some white sauce on the side. I asked the girl working if it's like tzatziki, and she said yeah it was. It's sort of like tzatziki flavored ranch.
Overall, the food was pretty good. I would go back. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it. For Middle Eastern food, it's nothing special. But the quick service is nice.
