| - I thought I did enough research and thought I was getting a good system because after all, if Costco and Home Depot carry it, it must be a good system.
I went to an independent distributor because I needed a larger system than I could get at the box stores. 22 infrared cameras plus installation....$15,000 later and I have 13 cameras that work sometimes. We have called the company so many times, it is becoming a full time job trying to keep these cameras working. Most of the calls to their tech support are frustrating because they farm out to third world countries and the majority of the time, I cannot understand them. One time I was on the phone with tech support from Colombia, South America, he asked if he could access my computer, I said no, we hung up and that moment someone took control of my laptop and iPad, and loaded up some dating sites. I sat helplessly watching them move my curser around and open pages on my computer. Of course they denied this but I guess they just wanted to show they could.
I did some research and found the headquarters address and "main" telephone number which was listed in the Ontario Canada Yellow Pages...I called the number in Canada and it was answered by someone in the Philippines...??? They don't even answer their phones. Best I can tell is they do everything they can to hide from their customers.
Dozens of phone calls later, they finally acknowledged that our DVR needed replacing and shipped us a new one. They shipped the wrong one and now won't ship another. It has now been one year.
*BUYER BEWARE*.....I wish I had read these reviews before buying but it is to late for us. Shop around. For me, I will never get close to a Lorex product again. By the way....the FLIR Cloud that remotely transmits video to my iPad or computer at home doesn't work either.
