  • This was one of the best night out we have had in a long time. Before you go writing off The House of Blues as a "touristy" thing or a "chain" like Hard Rock Cafes take a look at their offerings and come in and see for yourself that they are far from average. On Tuesday which happened to be Valentine's Day we did dinner along with a concert at The House of Blues. It was so much fun. Far starters we made reservations in advance because we knew it would be crowded - we arrived and were seated right away. Frank, our waiter was really personable and he did not rush us into ordering. In fact, he was great at helping us choose drinks and a great selection of appetizers to enjoy before the concert. I tried the Strawberry Bubbly a very festive drink for the evening It was made with Stoli Vodka, strawberry, fresh lemon, La Marca Prosecco. I am so glad I tried it! It was fresh and delicious... I made myself stop at one because it went down as easy as Koolaid! My sister had a Patron on the rocks and my daughter had a root beer. For snacks we ordered the Mardi Gras Fries to share. These fries are AWESOME!!! Crawfish and smoked Gouda cheese sauce with red peppers and Cotija cheese over crispy fries - This Louisiana girl was in heaven! The cream sauce is really nice not too spicy and not too heavy either. I will go back for these again before the end of the month as they are only available through February, Other goodies we snaked on included the Calamari, a pretzel, regular fries and coleslaw. I loved the calamari. I did not get the spicy sauces it normally comes with instead I opted for plain or a little ketchup on it. The Pretzel Rhyan chose was huge and had a really great flavor all on its own. It came with two sauces. One a cheese and the other a honey mustard. The honey mustard was my favorite. Really nice mild flavor and not overpowering. My sister loved the coleslaw. She said it was one of the best ones she has had in ages,. Very tangy but not not too vinegary. She said she will definitely want that again next time! We all really loved the meal. Frank really took great care of us. We cannot wait to go back again.
