I rented a car from this location in July for my road trip to San Diego. When I was waiting in line the guy behind the counter was helping another customer in front of me who was trying to rent a car but said he didn't have anything available. He said 1 car was available but couldn't rent it to him because it was not clean and he doesn't like to give out dirty cars. Then came my turn I got the keys to my car which wasn't what I paid for or selected. I was in a rush because I was leaving that night so I wasn't about to make a complaint. So I walked out to this "mini van" opened it up and it was completely filthy with stains all over the place. It smelled awful also! I walked back in to tell the guy as I walked in a very visibly upset guy was having the same issue getting a dirty car. The guy behind the counter said that there was nothing he could do and that is all they have left to rent out to customers were these dirty cars. The same dirty cars that he didn't want to rent out to the customer when I initially got there. He then continued to tell the guy that there was this big recall and thats why he didn't have any other cars to give him. He told the guy the only option he had was to drive to the airport which by the way is nowhere near this location to return the car and receive another one. The guy was livid that he had to do this understandably and requested that the guy behind the counter to call the location to confirm for him that he wouldn't make a wasted trip down there. The guy refused to call the airport location and the guy left very unhappy and unsatisfied. Then came my turn where he told me the same exact thing. I was upset also I did not have the time to drive all the way to the airport to exchange my car and also at that time there was no number to call to even confirm that I could exchange my car because the customer service number said they were closed. I drive all the way to the airport and when i go to the counter to exchange the car the guy had no clue what I was talking about when I mentioned the recall and also didn't seem to care about what I had to do to exchange the car.
I called Avis when I got home to complain about what happened. I was told after I got a ticket number that I would be contacted by someone from Avis that day. It is now August 28, 2016 and still have not heard anything from them which means obviously NO ONE CARES! I will never rent a car from this location again nor will I EVER rent a car from Avis again if this is how they treat their customers.
