  • I'm not sure how I just discovered this hidden gem when it has been open for over seven years?!!? Dined here on a Tuesday night with reservations at 6:15 pm....the place quickly filled up! The service was phenomenal. Our waitress, Maria B. was absolutely wonderful. She provided detailed answers to our extensive list of menu-related questions and checked in the perfect amount of times. I started off with the chai hot toddy (light on the star anise) ($14)...it was good, but not great. I think I was expecting a stronger flavor and it could have been a bit warmer. My entree made up for whatever this libation was lacking! I went with the Rabbit Rabbit ($34), which consisted of bacon wrapped saddle (very tender and flavorful), rabbit leg confit, hominy (similar texture to potatoes- made from whole corn kernels) in addition to butternut squash and turnips. The pairing of the ingredients allowed the flavors of the meat to shine through. The portion was quite large (definitely have leftovers) and had a beautiful presentation. For dessert, I chose the citrus panna cotta, as the chocolate mousse was not available. This smooth and creamy dessert was topped with lemon curd and finished with thin wisps of lemon rind. Halcyon is on the pricier side, but it's worth the splurge!
