| - I keep trying to give this nail salon another chance...
Pros: the ambiance is awesome, music is fun, and they always offer you a drink, which is great.
Cons: the manicures are rushed, overpriced, and the end result is sub par.
My last experience - I arrived at 6:30 pm (1 hr before closing) and asked if they had time for a pedicure and a gel manicure. I was told yes, and picked out a color. I had to wait for a little bit, but nothing crazy. When I sat down for my manicure, I asked to keep the length and for a square shape, My nails were filed down and into a round shape. Not the biggest deal, but again, a con. After she finished painting, there were noticeable unpainted spaces in between my nail and cuticle. I pointed it out, and she corrected it. After my manicure was finished, she told me I owed however much it was for a manicure. I asked if I could pay for my manicure and pedicure together and she responded with, "you wanted a pedicure too? We're closed now." Maybe it was the way she said it that rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it was because I was initially told they had time for both and the switch up caught me off guard. Or maybe it was a combination of these in addition to leaving for vacation the next day with unpainted toes. :(
I expressed my frustration and said I wished someone would have told me they only had time to do one or the other and I would have gotten my toes done instead. She said she would talk to her manager to see if she could make time. After waiting about 10 minutes, I decided to opt out. As I was leaving, I heard her tell the manager I declined the pedicure because it was time for dinner. Not exactly. I declined the pedicure because I was told there wasn't any time for it and I didn't want to pay 'x' amount for an inadequate job from an annoyed technician ready to go home.
The upside is that my gel polish is still on after a week of wear, with minimal chips. However, that is to be expected. Not the worst experience but certainly not the best.
