  • I was highly disappointed in my visit and felt/feel cheated. I have been going to the eye doctor for 30+ years. I am very selective in that I demand to patronize an Ophthalmologist (over an Optometrist) because of my family history. To that end, I wear contacts and all of my Ophthalmologists through the years have (i) provided me with a thorough eye exam; and (ii) provided me with a contacts prescription. The point of my visit to Southwestern Eye Center today (Friday June 9, 2017) was to (i) have my eyes thoroughly examined; and (ii) obtain a contacts prescription. At the end of my visit with the Doctor as he was walking me out, I asked about the prescription and he told me that he doesn't write contacts prescriptions and that I'd have to come back on another day, for another appointment, with an Optometrist. Because I was in shock, I went to the front desk and explained my years of patronizing eye specialists and was told I have to make an appointment with an Optometrist, on another day, to obtain a contacts prescription. I audibly stated "I am very very disappointed." Clearly, no one cared. I feel like my time and insurance dollars was wasted today. In addition, as a first-time patient, no one ever told me that I would not be able to get a contacts prescription. No one explained the office's policy at all. If they had, I would have made an informed decision NOT to patronize this office.
