Ah, The Cupcakery, a cozy eccentric place which has cranked out many adorable and delicious cupcakes and often satisfied the cupcake cravings of this sugar-aholic. The interior isn't very big but displays an array of very cute cupcakes with equally cute names. There is definitely something for every one. I'm sure even their bacon cupcake is calling out to someone. The decor reminds me of Tim Burton with a girly sweet twist or even the interior of the Cosmopolitan with the high heel and all. On the right wall, you'll even find the owner's story.
The popular Southern Belle happens to be my favorite. I call it their classic, a simple red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting but done just right. It's not overly sweet but will satisfy the sweet tooth. Bugsy, a carrot cupcake is another favorite as it has just the right hint of flavors but isn't overwhelmingly sweet. The strawberry shortcake has a stronger flavor and is also delicious. And around the holidays, they had Gingerbread and Pumpkin and those were so yummy! I wish they had it on a regular basis and not just around the holidays.
I give it 4 stars as there are some things that needs improvement- quality control. Come here during the day or afternoon and your cupcakes are more likely to be moist and delicious. However, come here after dinner or later in the evening and you tend to get dry cupcakes with dry frosting. I think it might have something to do with how they are displayed that doesn't maintain freshness. Despite being adorable cupcakes, the pricing is also a bit high at $3.50 each. And if you chance upon the dry cupcakes during a sugar craving, the hulk in you might come out.
