  • If it came off the first night it was worn, it'd be Promdress Bakery. But alas, it's not. What to get: Pasteis De Nata - Portuguese Custard Tart. What else: Who are you calling a tart. I'm making Progress in trying to get to 3,000 reviews, and I'm making Progress in my Toronto reviews, too. One thing Toronto is extremely good at, is Portuguese and Brazilian bakeries. There are probably about 30 of them just that I know of... and more that I don't. I've tried the majority of those... And this is one of the very best. If the place was full of geeks, it'd be Pokedex Bakery. It wasn't flaky at all (although I like that), it was thin (like my thingy), squidgy (like my... never mind)... had a nice burned taste, was a little chilled from the fridge, which was nice, and was basically perfect in terms of taste. The chill really brought the custard to the fore. Oh god I feel so pretentious even saying that. If they closed down, it'd be Oneless Bakery (sob). The burned taste is what stays with me from Progress. It's easily one of the best 5 Portuguese Tarts in Toronto, up there with Golden Wheat and Brick Street Bakery as well as My Market Bakery. And if they didn't sell tarts at all, it'd be Pointless Bakery. Thankfully, they do.
