Pretty disappointed in Safelite. People forget that we are the customers and when it comes to multiple people writing about the awful service of a company, we can make or break your business.
My wife called the insurance company about our broken windshield. Had an appointment set up for a week from today with Safelite through the insurance. I called Safelite and asked if they could do anything sooner and the lady immediately told me "NO" because your appointment is already set up through your insurance company. I said OK thanks I will call someone else to fix my windshield.
I called another company (Select Auto Glass). They told me that I can change my claim to them and still use my insurance to pay for it. I had planned to pay cash to replace the windshield because I was that pissed at the poor customer service with Safelite. I didn't want them to have my business. Select Auto Glass got me an appointment for the same day and had a great representative on the phone helping me.
Remember that you are the customer and they work for you. Once a company gets too big, the service usually takes a turn for the worse so keep the smaller local businesses in mind when you are doing business and the service becomes crappy.
Sorry Safelite you lost another customer to poor customer service and the lack of flexibility.
