| - We checked in on a slow Monday, thinking fantastic! we got the place to ourselves to celebrate a very special birthday. Checking in set the tone of the disastrous customer service that will follow. We were greeted by a woman who seemed to be annoyed that we interrupted her quiet time and had to focus on the daunting task of doing her job. She informs us that they will be charging a HIGHER deposit of $250 because we are locals. Talk about feeling punished for trying to support our neighborly casino. Most of the atm/change machines were down forcing me to face another "friendly" associate. Again, no greeting, no friendly smile, service was rushed, money was pushed out at me without a single word. I left feeling bothered. Finally, I encountered an atrocious table games dealer. She barely greeted me when I selected a chair, she did not say one word to me during the entire shuffle, she dealt very fast and didn't say "thank you" the few times I tipped her. Palms made me feel unwelcome & the employees I encountered are ungrateful for their jobs. I suggest not working in a customer service position if you are indisposed to basic manners. I expected more from The Palms, especially on a slow Monday where they had the opportunity to focus attention on the few guests they had. I recommend going across the street to the Rio Hotel. We usually stay there, no problems, no complaints, always a good time.
