Well let me tell you this experience was by far the worst experience I have ever had buying anything let alone a car. Our so called sales man Andrew was terrible. I normally don't write 1 star reviews but the way I was treated and was talked to no one should ever experience that.
So went to this dealership looking to buy a used car. Had a car in mind as well as a price I wanted to spend. Informed I had already secured financing with a local credit union. Then I was told that the credit union I would be using is a "preferred lender" of the dealership so I would get to $1,000 off the sales price. So I am saying cool sounds like this would work. Test drove the car and myself and wife though the car was nice and we were going to think about it. We were told that this place has no dealer add ons like others. When I heard that I just rolled my eyes and said ok.
Well I came back a week later with my sister (perspective buyer). Told Andrew I wanted to buy the car we test drove. Now we all know we do not pay what they want us to pay for the car. He came to me with a number. I said that was not something I was looking to pay for that vehicle. well the little BS haggle was over something in the neighborhood of $800. Andrew then tells me how was he going to get paid off that (Like him getting paid is my concern. I told him to text me if he can and left.
Well I received an email today. Only discount was $200. Tried to get about $200 more he said he couldn't. No problem I said will be on my way to sign the papers. Came back today with my sister (perspective buyer) to test drive a different car I wanted same model. Drove fine and went inside. Now like I said I already secured my financing from a "preferred lender" so I though all we got to do is give them my pre approval and move on. Oh no that's not the case. Andrew tells me he needs to do a soft pull on my credit because in order to get the discount he needs to put it through his system. He assures me it will be fine and all the information from the credit union will show up.
So now comes the fun with the financing. I told the credit union I was going to put down 6-8K on the car. Well here comes Andrew with some numbers of 2k down and my payments not what I wanted. I informed him what I wanted to put down and he goes back to the finance guy. This character comes back and insults me even more. Shows me a higher interest rate, 2900 down and a 75 month term. You got to be kidding me. That was so unacceptable it was laughable. He then turns and tells me well that's how he gets paid. Again tell me to worry about his pockets. I don't care about how you get paid that is not my concern. SO he comes back a third time and this is also some BS. He cut the so called 1k discount to $500. 63term. 7k down and the payments still wasn't what I wanted. I got up and walked out. Just to let you know I work for a bank so numbers is my thing and my sister (prospective buyer of a 40k+ car) is an accountant. This is the scam they are running. People come in there with little money down no credit and are not financially savvy. They thinkthey can get over on anyone. So that incredible $200 discount on the car was gone and basically I was paying $300 more for the car.
Called up to speak to the general manager. Not to try and get the deal but to vent a little. I got the so called general sales manager. Now I am not saying he had to kiss my you know and cater to me but when you try and talk down to me it is ridiculous. Talking slow and informing me that well they can't get paid from the bank if I put down that amount of money. Well 1 that is not my problem and you guys may want to renegotiate your deal with the bank. 2 here we go on how everyone else gets paid not trying to have any customer service. 3 this character had the never to say well I was told me already discounted the car so?? That is that $200 that they then added back the $500 to the total amount of the car so I am the one who is $300 down.
Poor customer service as a whole. Andrew needs retraining on who a preferred lender is as well as customer service. The dealership does not need to say they do not have any add ons like other dealerships because that BS 1K discount that they give you from using one of there "preferred lenders" is thrown out the window when you want to put too much money down. This is not going to affect Bill Lukes bottom line but come on man stop trying to pull fast ones on customer. If this was told me when I walked in over a week ago I could have went another direction. Oh and they think they had the best price for the vehicle I was looking for? Wrong autonation has the same cars for same or better prices with lower mileage. Thanks for wasting my time today.
