My girl and I have eaten here for years, despite the little negativities here and there (they won'tnlet you order to-go food, waiters reluctant to bring table salt, etc).
We decided to eat there about a week-and-a-half ago.. when we arrived it was about an hour prior to closing. There were 3 tables open on the patio. When we asked about sitting on the patio, the host literally grimaced! Then explained that "there wasn't seating for two" on the patio.
An hour before you close?? Multiple tables open outside??? On a THURSDAY NIGHT?? Really?
So, rather than dignifying the hosts response with an "oh okay" I said, "Thanks. We'll check back." (then finished that sentence to my gf with "when hell freezes over."
So,
We actually walked right around the corner to Pomo Pizzeria and were served a world-class meal, had an awesome server, were greeted by the chef himself because he brought us a complimentary dessert..
ALL without ever hearing a word about how the Breadfruit employ treated us earlier.
Last,
we drove past the Breadfruit on our way and saw that the 3 open tables were now 4. Guess they don't care about our silly $100 2-top but hey..
keep up that rep guys! :)
