I am editing my prior review of this bar (included below) to reflect a change in my personal experience with the bar. Recently a friend of mine made me aware that the bar's General Manager and owner individually failed to provide a former employee with her W-2, and were both incredibly abusive toward her when she requested it. The evidence was significant, and regrettably confirmed the story.
Although I enjoyed Gib's in the past, and likely spent north of $1,000 there over the years (evidence of my past opinions below), I will not be returning as I do not patronize places which abuse their workers. Evidence below. I am extremely disappointed that the management and ownership of Gib's behaved in a way which poisoned the many good memories I have of drinking at their establishment.

An excellent intimate bar with talented bartenders who are passionate about making superior drinks and providing great service. Some of the drinks are excessively complicated. Though, even when I have to wait a few extra minutes for a cocktail during peak hours, the conversation with the bartenders is worth it.
I have yet to be disappointed by a single drink I've ordered at Gibs. From the aviator to a classic Manhattan to a brandy Alexander -- whether made on the first floor or the second -- each and every drink has been perfect. I would recommend avoiding peak times, as the bar's cozy atmosphere begins to feel claustrophobic as it fills up.
