| - Have stayed here many times over the years including when it was the Aladdin. This review is based upon a 3 day stay in January 2013 and a 4 day stay in April 2013. I play enough that my rooms are always comped, but figure their prices are in line with similar hotels. They used to boast that they did not have a "resort fee" and thus one would save money staying there. However they recently instituted a daily resort fee as well of $20 per day which includes internet access. In April we had two different rooms. In one, the furniture was so beat up you'd think it was still there because the Goodwill store turned down the furniture as a donation because it wasn't worth picking up. So why do I give it 3 stars?
Pros:
1. It's location on the strip is phenomenal. It's only a "Vegas" short walk to Caesars, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Aria, Paris, Bally's, Flamingo, MGM, NYNY & Monte Carlo. If you need anything, 24 hour Walgreens is right next door.
2. Casino - It's my favorite, most fun place to play blackjack. The Pleasure Pit with good looking women dealers in lingerie is a blast. The dealers are Fun. Pit bosses Jerrod and Christina are a blast too. The music is great. It just rocks! Also very high ceilings in casino great for smoke and sense of spaciousness.
3. I'm too old for the club, but my understanding it's happening.
4. Restaurants - Pro ones are Burgr and PF Changs. Planet Dailies is a decent 24 hr. coffee shop restaurant and Starbucks is always open too.
5. Room Locations - The hotel elevators are designed so you don't have a long walk to your room regardless where it is. And the tower is convenient to casino and restaurants. Unlike other hotels where you walk half a mile within the hotel just to get to your room or other part.
6. Room Baths - Most have great, large baths. Large soaking tub and separate large shower. Toilet closet with door. Might only have one sink, but very long vanity top is great to have.
Cons:
1. Rooms were redone when hotel changed from Aladdin to PH. They now look tired. Same goes for hallway carpet. The room we had with the beat up furniture the safe was so low it was literally 2 inches off the floor. Had to get on knees to use it.
2. Spice Market Buffet - Used to be good. Now not so much. I go elsewhere if I want buffet, even if I'm staying at PH.
Hopefully they will refurbish rooms soon. Then it will be a solid 3+ stars. If they don't, it will be hard not to drop the rating.
