| - Reading some of the other reviews you would think I visited another restaurant! I really like Cibo. I have been a few times now and it has only gotten better and better.
I love their take on appetizers, offering a choice of small bowls that don't just stick me with one option. (If you haven't had the arancini you haven't lived - risotto and pea in a lightly fried ball made of dreams and unicorn tears or something...)
Their pizzas are really tasty. My wife had the pear pizza and it was very savory, I had the boar bacon and it was delicious. I also love the thought they put into making the pizzas. I sat at the pizza bar once and noticed a lot of the little touches, like putting a spoon under the pizza and letting it sit for a few moments after it comes out of the oven - helps keep the crust crisp while the pizza cools. Smart!
I'm not a big pasta eater, but was ordered to have a bite of gnocchi by my sister and it was really tasty.
If you like desserts, basically try them all. The fritellas are something akin to a gourmet mini-doughnut and it comes with a variety of sauces. The pannacotta is 100% creamy and awesome. Don't even get me started on the cannoli.. Order 2. Don't ask questions, I am doing your a favor here (trust me).
Honesty one of the places where after you've had dessert once, it is impossible to avoid dessert every time you go.
I assume I will be judged as a horrible fan-boy if I don't post something constructive: I did notice that service could be a little in-attentive at times, examples include refilling my crostini when I needed more, or just general turn-around when ordering something small like a coffee.
With that said, they just opened, the servers were still super nice and my powers of observation told me that it wasn't in any way intentional. It also didn't diminish the taste of their most excellent food.
I hope they keep this up, as I'd like this to be a good spot for me to continue to haunt.
