I bought my Mazda in 2011 and brought it nowhere else for service since. Until now. I recently brought it in because it was making a noise; my son called and requested a diagnostic be performed.
I brought it in the next day and was asked if I thought it was the brakes...I said that it didn't make the noise when I hit the brakes. I got a call from Jeff at work and was told that it was my brakes and serpentine belt...it was also recommended that I spend more on other things that aren't as much of a priority...more than $1600.00 total. I said just do what was necessary...$750.00 for brakes and belt.
I took it home and then two days later I hear the same noise....on Monday morning had to go into work late again...I took it in. I was then called an hour later and told that it was my catalytic converter....$1042.00!! I told them not to do it since it thought the price sounded excessive...I had just spent $750...I got two estimates from reputable places I had gone to for years. I ended up getting it replaced for $325.00 at The Muffler Shop in Henderson. Oh, and Mazda charged me $138.00 for the diagnostic which was supposed to have been done the first time I went and obviously wasn't!
I asked that it be refunded...completed the survey and contacted the service manager, Peter Gonzalez, and never heard a word back.
I will never go back and will not buy a new car there which I had planned to do within a year or so.
