We have been sending our daughter (almost 7) to camp for the past few weeks and she loves it (especially her counselors)! They play a lot of games, create art, and do a field trip each week. Having never sent my daughter to camp before I feel that this has been a really good experience for her (and the cost is reasonable). The fact that she is smiling when I pick her up tells me she had a good day.
In terms of "bullying" (previous comments), it's impossible to account for every child's actions, at all times, especially when you are dealing with "groups of children." It only takes 1 kid and 1 comment. I have approached the director(s) before with questions and they were very pleasant/helpful. Additionally, I feel that if "bullying" were a concern (and brought to their attention) that it would be taken care of immediately! Bullying is just not tolerated today. On any level.
I too heard about the after school program from other parents and they were happy. I plan to look into this during the school year as "Safe Key" is NOT an option!
