| - Let me start off by saying I will NEVER fly with American Airlines again. Because of the incompetence of one of their employees, I will have missed my grandfathers funeral. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect in my entire life. If I could rate them with negative stars, I would. I flew from Jacksonville NC to Charlotte and that flight was fine. As soon as my next flight to LaGuardia was about to take off, it got delayed an hour. Ok no big deal, better safe than sorry. Then it was pushed another half hour, and within that time it was canceled. We were all sent to the customer service desk and I proceeded to wait on line for an hour. Jut before I made my way to the front I was informed that there was no other flights to NY until 4pm the NEXT day. Finally made it to the counter, explained that I was going to NY for a funeral, had no money with me, and was alone. I told her that by the time I would have landed tomorrow if I took the 4pm flight, I would have missed the service. She told me "A funeral is not a good enough reason to give you a new flight." I looked at her and said "Are you kidding me? So you're going to send me back home to Jacksonville right?" The lady had the nerve to wave her hand in my face and yell Next. I made my way out of security, to the customer service desk by the ticketing area and a wonderful lady named Alexandra helped me immediately. I was an absolute mess when I got there, crying hysterically. She had me on a flight back home within 5 minutes, no questions asked and also gave me a food voucher which she didn't have to do.
