  • Something disturbing happened at this store today. A regular customer walked in to purchase a few tubes of paint and was followed around in an obvious manner & at a short distance by the male employee, who pretended to straighten the already perfectly aligned shelved items directly next to the customer. When confronted, the male employee only put his face in his phone and walked away, saying nothing. When the customer tried to appeal to the female employee, asking why they were being followed around, reminding her of their many recent purchases (for which she was present), the pair only smiled smugly, neither denying the complaint nor attempting to calm the customer down, treating them as though it was their fault. Toward the end of this transaction, an African-American woman walked into the store and, almost robotically, the male employee dropped what he was doing to walk directly over to her, stand close to her and pretend to straighten items next to her. Not sure what kind of game is being played by the employees of Arizona Art Supply Tempe, or what their owner/manager would think about this, but this is definitely not how you treat people, especially if you want to stay in business.
