We rented camping equipment for a trip to New Mexico and Arizona.
The good: They delivered the items requested to our hotel in a timely manner. All the equipment that we asked to have was there. It was really easy to ship everything back via UPS drop off.
The bad: When we unpacked the tent we found that it was filthy and had several holes along the seams of the tent. What's worse is that they didn't provide enough stakes and several of the stakes in the bag were completely bent and useless. Luckily, it wasn't windy or rainy during our trip. We ordered two camping chairs. One of the chairs was fine, the other was dirty and the leg kept popping out of the bottom. The lantern we rented was a lot different than I expected. They should show pictures of the actual equipment they send. The headlamp didn't work as expected, either.
Overall, we were disappointed. I called them right away about the condition of the tent. I played phone tag with them for several days and then finally talked to someone about getting a $50 refund (covered about 1/3 of the total cost of everything we rented).
I love the idea of renting equipment, but they really do need to do a better job of making sure everything they send is in good condition first.
