  • Oy vey, food overload alert. My husband and I could barely eat food the rest of the weekend after eating here on a Saturday. Like Samantha G's review, this was more of a 2 star restaurant for me, but my husband mostly liked it so we're averaging at 3 stars. My husband who works with the government, where the cold war threat is still alive and kicking, found the Russian theme amusing and kind of cool. We were here with a large group for a Yelp event before the Mac King Show at Harrah's. We were given a choice of four appetizers, and since no one seemed interested in the waffle fry nachos, I went with those, assuming since they were complimentary that they would be small plates. Nope, I got a huge pile of waffle fries with cheese sauce, shredded cheese, short ribs and fresh jalapenos. It was overwhelming to look at and it was difficult to eat, especially when there were burgers also coming to the table. I was not down with the short ribs and wished they were left off, but my husband loved them. My favorite part of this monster of a dish was the fresh jalapenos, so much that I picked many of them off the dish. I could barely make a dent in this. As for the burgers themselves, while I found them interesting, and was happy they would allow us to order our burgers medium rare, they came out pretty much raw in the middle. If the beef is good quality, sometimes I don't mind this. However, the flavor of the meat just wasn't as good as other casino gourmet burger joints, such as Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. It kind of reminded me of eating something on par with Farmer Boys, but more than twice the price. My husband on the other hand, had the Cobb burger and liked it (sans avocado and veggies because he hates healthy stuff), but thought that the way they serve bacon was kind of odd. Instead of putting bacon strips they literally grind it into a grainy spread. While I understand why this is done (to get bacon taste in every bite), but neither of us found that it enhanced the flavor of the burger. Overall as others have said, if we were staying on the property, this is a good choice to eat at. As a local, I don't think this is worth going out of the way for as there are better options.
