  • In my attempt to give this particular restaurant a fair shot, I thought I would give it a few rounds so that I can give a fair review and CFSBB a better run for my money. My review is LONG so be prepared to read, however, I feel its important to give details because I waited more than one visit to give my FULL review. Mainly because I personally know of so many people that always rave about this place, WHY, is always my question. I can count a few other places i would prefer to go to before I go here. Not just because of the food but the service is not to par. Its not entirely inexpensive to go here and for what i pay here, i can give you a list of other places I would rather spend my time or money. My first visit was during lunch service. There were not than many people and the waiter seemed friendly enough. The most pleasant part of my experience was having the ability to sit outside, but that can be said of a lot of restaurants down south, hell, Panera has a great outside area in Southpark too. The food was mediocre at best, I had sushi and this was almost two years ago but it was unmemorable enough to forget. The second time I went, same thing, lunch, waiter was friendly I tried a chicken sandwich, was just ok. Now this past weekend was my final straw to not go back. It's the holidays, its next to the mall and other higher end destination shopping, "I get it". That said, I took my sister out for a special bonding lunch. We walked in and the hostess was rude. I told her I would like a table for two and she said very rudely "well it's a 30 minute wait" as if it was going to deter me from still wanting to stay and eat, I tried to be as pleasant as possible to which I replied, "no problem". She seemed annoyed (?) and took my name. Every seat at the bar was taken and most of the tables in sight were as well. No biggie, this will give me an opportunity to "Hang Out" with my sister to which I stood up from the window banquet to get us a drink at the bar...wait, all of the bartenders won't even give me eye contact?! So my sister finally flagged one of them down and we ordered a beverage. We waited the full 30 minutes before we were buzzed and then approached. We were escorted to the back area where I can plainly see there were a few four tops open and then the very back area where there is a plastic enclosed area where at least 6 other tables were fully open! What on earth? So we sat down, happy to have a private conversation. A waitress came up to us acknowledging that we had our own drinks but that she wouldn't be OUR waitress that someone was settling into her shift so she wanted to make sure we at least had water and perhaps some appetizers, friendly and attentive enough. Well, our water comes but at this point, we are hungry, so we asked to order. We both ordered the Beneto boxes, but I personally ordered "The Ultimate" Brento Bento Box with the firecracker roll. An additional 20 minutes go by and our "Official Waitress" gets to us and takes another round of drinks, WHY not it's a Saturday afternoon. I can start to notice others around us whisper about the service and the amount of time its taking for everything. No biggie, I am having a beer and with great company so who cares. So where is my food? It took 30 minutes to get our bento boxes, I go in! The cucumber salad is delish, the edema me, well its damage ...either you like it or you don't but what is not to like?! The mini burger of the day is a sautéed mushroom with cheese and bacon, it's REALLY good actually. The Firecracker, was not particularly what I was expecting. It wasn't spicy and it was actually kind of bland. There is this man that clearly works there, he is wearing an ear piece, but he just keeps walking by really fast. He never makes eye contact, doesn't seem to make conversation with any of the patrons. My sister insists on ordering a dessert but my blue moon draft made me really full, so I passed. She tried the Apple Pie Wonton and didn't really like it. The waitress took note and asked this man that kept walking by clearly if she could comp the dessert.... oh wait, he is a manager?????? He didn't' even look at her in the face while she asked, he seem to be in a rush to do another lap around the restaurant, talk about multitasking, working out while at work! It took longer than it should to get our check. So long story short, I won't be back at cowfish. The service is terrible and management leads the herd. The end.
