| - What a cool, cool, place. Passenger's is the bottom part of the Cleveland Hostel, so know going in that the barista will also simultaneously be checking guests in, handing them sheets and towels, and managing the coffee bar. BLESS.
When you walk in, the name "clicks." When I entered, there were young kids from all over the world hauling their luggage around, a few other guests showing people maps, and transient-inspired decor throughout the coffee shop, like telephone booths and oversized maps. It's a super cool place. (Side note: Does anyone watch Broad City? I was stoked to be like, "What up my peers!" then realized I wasn't in college anymore.) There's a cozy row of tables and chairs in the back to hang out and do work, and it sits against an exposed brick wall lined with local art. I ordered the Jai chai, which is like an extra milky and less caffeine-y chai, and I really enjoyed it. I wish a place like this would have existed years and years ago! It also has a prime location, sitting in the heart of all the eclectic local shops on West 25th.
So why not 5-stars? There's apparently this super cool rooftop patio, but its stairs only to get there. I can't do stairs right now and couldn't go to check it out, which made me sad. Not totally sure of the 100% handicap accessibility here.
