This review is strictly of the happy hour at this restaurant.
My husband and I usually do a local happy hour during the week and have several
favorites both in Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter, however, we recently
tried Tanzy. It turned out to be a mistake.
Happy hour seating is either at the bar or on several sofas. We opted for the bar.
There was no happy hour beverage or food menu. The bartender mentioned one
red and white wine for five dollars. As for the food, he pointed to three appetizers
on the regular menu and said that they were eight dollars each. I couldn't determine
if he just picked those three out of the blue and they changed nightly - very strange.
The three choices for the evening were grilled calamari, meatballs with bruschetta
or fried brussel sprouts. We opted for the first two and both were inedible and
lukewarm. The meatballs were mostly filling. The calamari was tough and no spices.
After a couple of bites we were done. Service was sorely lacking also. Win some,
lose some and we surely lost on this one.
