| - So, when we moved here we rented out a 3x2 apartment that was on special for $1225 a month. We stayed right above what seemed like a school group of boys who were also renting out an apartment on the other side of the complex. That was fine, i can deal with their loud music and weed smoke. My car had some serious damage to it, so we kind of got behind in rent starting March '15 and from then on we started to pay $1400 a month due to the late fees and admin. That was a little too much for us to keep paying until our lease was up in November, so we had talked to Jenny, well we spoke with her in June about breaking our lease early. We signed the paperwork at the office and we also had another apartment (Coronado Bay) who was waiting for us to pay June's rent with Cantera, so she can move us into Coronado Bay with a 2x2 at 900 dollars (more affordable and easier for us to catch up with our backed up finances). During that month, when we went to sign the breaking of the lease with Jenny she mentioned that they received a call from Coronado Bay (Rental verification) and then asked us why we were looking for another apartment. We told them we had something come up and finances were backed up and couldn't afford to pay $1400 every month. So, she states that she can ask Wendy about moving us into a smaller unit with less rent and I said yes, we were shown different apartments that were by the office. So, after that I met with Jenny in the parking lot one morning before I was headed to work and I told her that we're going to go through with the lease here and to just cancel it. I was never told that I had to come in and sign more paperwork. Next thing you know, I'm getting a call asking me what day I am moving out? I said, I thought I told you guys that I was going to continue to stay? That's when Jackie states that I should have came to the office and how Jenny doesnt work there anymore ( What a coincidence) and how they already rented my apartment out to someone new, so I would have to move out. Which, I think is really messed up considering that I have children. So, once again, we are going through the "I will find another apartment for you guys" thing with their complex. Jackie did her walk through and took photos. I only had juice stains by the kitchen area which was CARPET and my child took off the door holder at the bottom of the wall, so the door knob hit the wall. Everything else was spotless clean and just how they gave it to me. I waited and waited from a "response" to see if we could just move into another unit and what happened? Jackie calls me back and says that it was denied and they don't have an exact reason of denial. All this time I could have just moved out in June instead of going back and forth with false help. It's not like we were jobless with no income and unclean. Now, they are trying to charge me for the rest of the lease even though they stated they already rented my apartment out to someone else the SAME month they told me my contract ended. So, why are you sending me to collections and want me to pay for the rest of my lease? You already kept my $600 dollar deposit for a little hole in the wall (no door stopper) and a orange juice stain in the dining area.
