rev:text	I've heard about Republic West for years in the newspaper, on the radio and through word of mouth from people at work. I recently moved and bought a fixer upper and decided to call them for a bid. I had some questions so I decided to call instead of fill out the online form. The guy who answered the phone was very knowledgeable and helpful. He answered most of my questions and got back to me with any question he couldn't answer. I decided to schedule an appointment so that my wife and I could figure out if we could afford what we wanted. They were very flexible with our schedule and actually came out on Saturday night. Jerry the designer showed up with what seemed to be an entire showroom in his car. The initial consultation took about an hour and a half. Jerry's presentation was very informative and made us feel comfortable with him and Republic West. We found out that we could save a lot of money by refacing our cabinets instead of replacing them. We were not aware that refacing was an option and came to find out that not every company offers that as an option. Fortunately for us the previous homeowner had upgraded the counter tops and refacing allowed us to keep the counter tops, saving us what we had budgeted for counters. Besides the kitchen we also needed new windows and a front door. We had those old metal single pane windows from the 70's and knew because of our last house that they allow too much heat in the summer. Republic West is a certified Simonton window dealer. We had previously owned a home with Simonton windows and they performed great and kept the house cool. So we were happy when they had that brand as well. Because we always get 3 bids we asked Jerry to send us a quote and we would compare and make our decision. He told us he would figure it all out right there and present us a quote on the spot. The other two companies we got bids from took weeks to get them back but we didn't realize till later how nice it was to get the price on the spot. After about a month we decided to go with Republic West's bid but still needed to put the final touches on our design. Jerry came back out we finalized everything, wrote up the paperwork and began the process. Within 24 hours the operations department called and Stephanie the lead person walked me through the process and set up the official measurements of all the products we ordered. A couple days later two gentleman came out, one to measure the kitchen and one for the windows. They were very nice and did there work quick and left about an hour later. Stephanie informed us that it would take about 6 weeks to get the materials for the kitchen custom made. She offered to install the windows earlier but we decided to do both projects at once. At about week four we were informed everything was on track to be delivered on time and were given an installation date. The window project would take 2 days and the refacing would be 5 days. We were pleasantly surprised that the project would only take 7 days. On the first day the window crew showed up and proceeded to protect my house with drop clothes. The main installer Kenton and his guys were great and very clean. They actually finished up early on the second day because they brought an extra guy with. The following day Paul showed up to begin the refacing portion of the project. I didn't realize that only one guy was coming to do it but it was explained that on projects of our size two guys would get in each other's way. He too protected the house with drop clothes and plastic. I can't believe that Paul did it all himself but on day 5 the project was done and my old kitchen cabinets had been transformed into beautiful new cabinets. After the job was done, Stephanie called us to see how everything went and told us to call her direct if something came up. Everyone we encountered during the project was professional and helpful. I would highly recommend giving Republic West a call if you need a new kitchen and windows.
