| - Thus far, we've made it our tradition (2 times count?) to stop at Doré for Sandwiches and such, to bring with us for the long drive home.
Feet away from the Marché Atwater, Doré is almost their answer to U.S's- Panera Bread. It has your basic sandwiches but with a certain, je ne sais quoi Montréal touch. I'm even stumped myself, because I wouldn't know how to describe their sandwiches. To me- they're just different and...good. But heads up- so far, when you ask for either 'Warm' or 'Panini'- they simply "toast" (lightly) your entire sandwich. Not against it at all- just as long as their process gets the "chill" out of my sandwich!
They also have Hot or Cold Beverages: Teas, Chai, coffee- including Hot Chocolate- which is somewhat o......k but not the gourmet type that I gravitate to. Additionally, Doré, has a nice selection of Pastries and other small snacks.
Not sure if they bake their goods on the premises, but they're entirely fresh and so freaking buttery. Doré is a fantastic lunch spot or like we do......bring along to nosh on as we inch our way into the border.
Perhaps not flat out unique or gourmet- but Doré is good and hits the nail on the head.
