  • I really wanted to like this place ... and I loved the way it looked and felt. But between the service that night and the food, I was really disappointed. There was 9 of us and we ordered apps to share, and most of them missed the mark. We had : frito misto, octopus, short rib, polenta, and the tuna rolls. The calamari had veggies and a UFO- unidentifiable fried object - polenta posing as calamari. That wasn't cute. The octopus was great, but it was swimming in this bland broth of garbanzos and tomato. Yuk. The polenta was good, if u like cream of wheat for dinner, and the short rib app was just bad. Cold and bland and slimy. Then came the mains -- I got the cod. Undercooked friggin cod. I can't have undercooked now. It. Was. Vile. I sent it back. There was a problem with service that night, and the octopus came after the mains, and our potato and Brussels sprouts never came. As an apology the restaurant comped my dish (and another angelotti that was doing the backstroke in oil) and sent out 6 desserts on the House. I added a star because they made an expensive accommodation for their shortcoming tonight, and that def redeemed their service. The waiter was also very apologetic, and service is paramount to me, esp. in a high end restaurant. I loved the bread basket and the mascarpone butter...so much that it ended up being my dinner...since the food just wasn't good that night. So kudos on the service portion of the meal, but I will not return to this restaurant.
