  • I don't frequent movie theaters in general any more. In my younger years however as in the case of many, kind of a movie junky. Not into most Sci-fi or loud blasting special effects based film. Yesterday I was really tempted when they offered a special for a single showing of an old favorite. The Dirty Dozen is the sixth highest grossing film for MGM and figured in numerous awards/accolades. Some of the most memorable actors from the 60s are crammed into this classic. It's not the stereotypical 'war movie' and has a great plot/storyline that's captivating. Now the Harkins on Arrowhead Fountains Circle in Peoria AZ, is always well run, clean and family oriented. Ideal for catching up with sensational movies from this genre. The food service and facilities are always sanitary and regularly maintained. It makes for a good balance rather than lopsided as in many other brand venues. Inside the auditorium with comfy seats and room is never a disappointment. Watching this one on the big screen with the Dolby surround sound brought it to a heightened peak. Great audible effects for dialogue as well as the drum and music background score was so suited to the movie, I'd have stayed and watched it all over again. It was the only showing and at 7 pm it'd be a bit much since it's over 2 1/2 hrs long to begin with. Trust me, never a dull moment. Overall a very intensely gratifying experience, as is usually the case. The one at Norterra is in my opinion just as good. I'll be looking out for other ones here like The Battle of the Bulge and so on. The only reason I shy away from five shiny ones for movie theaters is the cost factor normally associated with the pop corn/drinks/snacks/candy and so on. Seems like what you save at the ticket window/booth is more than doubled at the food vendor, no matter how conservative or downsized the order. Cheers!
