Ooh I love the Westin here! this was literally my home for 9 months. Such pampering service everytime we are here. I guess it pays to be a ultra Platinum member with tenure here :)
The people here get everything and I mean EVERYTHING done for you. Nothing is impossible. They get you in even when they are sold out and totally booked. They put you up at normal rates instead of the skyrocketing rates when all flights back to NYC are cancelled and the hotel itself is oversold. They send a guy out to purchase bedroom slippers when supplies of bedroom slippers have run out, just so you have something on your feet to the pool. They were even able to re-charge bills for the last 6 months to a different card I decided I'd prefer to collect points on. OMG talk about 1-on-1 customer service. But it all comes with the attached status for without any status whatsoever... you'll easily find yourself transferred to another far away hotel when the Westin is overbooked or if you fail to check in early in the day... OR in other instances, you'll get bumped up to the Polk Suite but find yourself put up only in the non-bedroom portion... YES.it's happened to people I know.. so status has its privileges for sure.
They have a pretty awesome breakfast buffet. Love it when I have time to sit down. Otherwise, I have a routine here that is tweaked to perfecto timing.
8am wake up
805am hit the gym
840am return to room and shower
845am breakfast comprising of 2 poached eggs and whole wheat toast (have to specify no butter etc otherwise they'd put a chuck of it on) in a to-go bag is brought to my room (sometimes my door rings when I'm in the shower but no probs)
855am I'm walking to my client's office with breakfast in hand (yes, I try to have breakfast within the 45-min window of my workout)
9am arrive at work, have breakfast with my cup of tea
Sounds perfect right? In NYC, even though I arrive to work much later, at 930am, 10am or even 11am at times, I'm never able to have achieved so much before. Don't even talk about hitting the gym before, I don't even manage to have breakfast prior to showing up.
