George Brown is a small local college offering courses in applied arts and technology. They've been around since 67 and have always managed a high level of education and are known for their cooking stream.
I've been going here for about a month now for a night class and while I can't say I'm in love with the place, it's not bad. It feels like a smaller compact version of a university student building. There's an "express" style store for almost everything you'd expect at U of T or York. Tiny book store, tiny computer store, iddy-biddy magazine shop and so on.
The facilities don't seem any better or worse than other campuses I've been to. Well lit break out rooms with comfy couches can be found everywhere. The elevators feature both up and down buttons? I don't know, it's a school.
If you're looking for a refresher course in some basic office applications or you want to become a fully qualified chef then George Brown has you covered. You will actually learn quite a lot more than you would in a two-day seminar and pay a fraction of the cost.
