| - I first learned about YC's through a friend of mine (who is a regular), who very strongly recommended this buffet-style restaurant. Generally I do not dine at buffets for I do not consider the food served at traditional buffet to be appetizing. My friend who had recommended that I give the establishment a go, accompanied me on my first visit to the renowned Mongolian Grill; for he would guide me on how the buffet works. My first impression of the restaurant was that it is extremely open and inviting. Not to mention how well kept the cleanliness and sanitation of the entire restaurant is. Walking in, both my confidant and I were greeted by a very attentive and welcoming cashier. Looking at the menu there are the choices in buffet bowl sizes, and any extras that you would like to additionally have with your meal; a drink (with unlimited refills), rice, and soup, are included with your purchase of the buffet bowl. Now let me tell you ladies and gentleman, you absolutely do get what you pay for! Personally, the size small along with all the sides that come along with your entrée is more than enough food for not just one, but two meals.
Moving on, my comrade had brought me over to the buffet bar itself to begin building my one-of-a-kind Mongolian meal. The first section of the bar consists of meat, including: chicken (white and dark meat), pork, beef, shrimp, and Alaskan Cod. Following the meat, is a wide selection of vegetables such as, watercress, onion, baby corn, ect. Thereafter was a choice of noodles; wheat, rice and undone. Lastly you come to a very large variety of customizable creations composed of sauces and spices. On the wall above, there was a list of 16 different flavor combinations that you can put together by reading the flavors' ingredients list. This sauce that you make will be what helps bring the truest flavors of your meal together. The final step of making you Mongolian masterpiece is to hand your meal over to the professional stir-fry chef to perfectly cook your delicacy. It is apparent that it requires a great deal of training and skill to accomplish this. The very friendly man or woman will then hand back to you your finished product in which you will hopefully find as delectable as I did. You then continue to go to the mini bar if desired to pick yourself up some perfectly cooked rice; brown and white. You will too find that you can have a cup of soup and some wantons if desired. All at the same time, you can also get a refreshing beverage.
The dining at YC's Mongolian Grill was a serendipitous experience. I was able to enjoy my meal in a comfortable atmosphere with my buddy whilst there was subtle background music that was not hard to communicate with others, but just lightened the restaurants mood. The staff was very beneficial, attentive and responsive to my needs. My meal itself was undeniably the best tasting buffet-style food that I had ever eaten. Unquestionably, I will be a returning customer and undoubtedly recommend YC's to someone looking for a little flavor variation.
