| - while i was in new york, i made a habit of exploring the cupcake subworld of the city. and what a world it was. now back in clevo, i have to say there isn't much i miss about the city. except those damn cupcakes.
the fad of cupcake bakeries hasn't really hit northeast ohio yet (if it will, i don't know), but if it does, white flower should be a forerunner in the race, if not just by beauty of their artwork itself. actually, the cakes they make are beautiful. the cupcakes are darn pretty too. i have had their red velvet cupcakes and some white cake cupcake with a big ol' flower on top.
they're pretty. that's for sure. and a bit pricey, but if you're in the gourmet cupcake fad, you know you're paying a couple bucks for one of these mommas.
for me, the tell-tale sign of a good shop is its red velvet. their red velvet wasn't bad, but i wasn't blown away.
my friends were, but i wasn't blown away.
i really give white flower three and a half stars, but i charted them at four since the time and quality of what they do is truly amazing. if you are in the neighborhood, stop by their shop to just take a look at some of the work they've done on their cakes themselves. they are amazing.
but for the cupcakes...hmm. good, not great.
