| - Soul Is a few blocks from my 3rdW pied-a-terre and from the week they opened became my funky, friendly, foodie oasis. The decor, done by Scott Weaver, is high design kitsch, with the dormant color the perfect shade of teal blue and stuffed peacock to boot! The booths are claustrophobic to me but "cozy" to some. I am normally found on my "Lola" stool at the main bar. If you want a quiet dining experience get there as close to 5:30 as you can...after 7 it's a scene with hip 'hoodies and loud girls from Ballantyne. My "guys" bartenders Brian, Johnny, Adam, and Bob keep me well hydrated and fed. Whether by myself or with friends I like "small" dishes, tapas grazing. The menu is vast and varied but after 2 years needs a makeover. The specials by chef Jay and John are the way to go. Last week a salad served like sushi roll, consisting of an heirloom tomato wedge, wrapped in cucumber, bathed in red wine vinegar with a dash of bacon oil had me doing the "Harry Met Sally" groans.
