| - I'll never come to this Victoria's Secret again, I'd rather wear Walmart bras. This happened a week and a day ago, on Wednesday 10/19/16. I purchased 2 bras, and got a free tote. My bra shopping experience (and the bras) were great.
I was using a MasterCard gift card for most of my purchase, and my debit card for the rest. The cashier, while very cute and nice, didn't have a clue what she was doing. She forgot to include the free tote, said this was the 3rd time that day she'd done that, and laughed. I'd already run my gift card through and signed for it. She said she needed to reverse the transaction so she could include the tote, and start over. Of course, the $50 transaction had already been processed on my gift card, so that balance was gone. The cashier called a manager over, who suggested that we process the remaining $24 on my debit card, then try the gift card again. The gift card still wasn't working since the original transaction didn't get reversed, so they backed out of the transaction again. The called a 2nd manager for help, and the "solution" was for me to pay for the entire thing (about $75) on my debit card. I pulled up my Wells Fargo account and showed them that the $24 was showing, as well as the gift card transaction that showed the $50. The managers refused to give me a copy of the voided transaction, or any type of confirmation that they had reversed anything. I had a feeling that the transactions would not really be reversed, and wanted something in writing.
In total, I paid about $150 for 2 $34 bras and a free tote. I'm a single mother, and wanted to buy myself a couple of nice bras with my birthday gift card. I missed the extra $75 from my checking account.
It took 8 days for the gift card balance to be corrected, but they didn't reverse the $24 Wells Fargo transaction. I had to dispute it with the bank in order to get a refund.
TL;DR:
Everything was great until checkout, I was double charged due to a cashier that wasn't paying attention (and managers that didn't care that I was inconvenienced and double charged), it took over a week to get my money back.
