| - Located in the pacific mall, and it looked just like any typical optical store operated by orientals. We had a mix of experiences when dealt with Royal Car Optical. On Saturday, we spent almost an hour picking out our prescription frame and special coating lenses. Finally the store want us to pay in full up front, but we haven't even received our final product yet, so the store agreed we paid 50% for deposit. The store also promised that it will be ready in about a week, so we left happily.
On Monday, we received a call from the store noticing us that the special lenses we wanted cannot be ordered, because it doesn't exist. Now, we put up red flags, we were thinking, how can you waste a customer's time selling something that you don't even carry at the first place. So we felt it was right to cut the rope and not to continue dealing with an unprofessional optician or a dishonest business.
After few phone tags back and forth, they finally agreed to refund us the money they withheld, but they are charging $5 for processing fee. To our understanding, this is robbery. They sold something they don't have at the first place and they blamed the customers. Rather than wasting our time arguing with them, we just paid the $5 and get our refund. To top of the inconvenience, we had to go back to the store physically to process the visa again to get the refund.
To future buyers, DO NOT go Royal Care Optical in Pacific Mall, because they don't know their products. In addition, once they have your money, it is SUPER HARD to get it back.
