  • I've been here 4 times in past 5 years. Purchase tires from them in the past.Brought in tires from TIRE RACK in the past. The fee for dismount, mount, disposable was about 22.00 in past. Last visit was 3 weeks ago for tires on a different vehicle...Unremarkable. Pleasant visit. Today, I brought in tires purchased from TIRE RACK. Spoke with JOSE. He mention it will cost 40.00 to dismount and mount. Not including TPMS and disposable..His mention it's because "ALL LABOR HAS GONE UP. WE EVEN CHARGE MORE FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS". This is pretty much a lie..and I called him on it. I had tires put on about 3 weeks ago. It was 22.00 (including disposable). Spoke with Grant (GENERAL MANAGER). At least he was more honest and transparent. He mention, "when you bring in tires from someone else, we have to charge more because we have to make a profit.. If you bought the tires here, it would be about 22.00 for dismount / mounting/balance/disposal. He mention there is mandatory 8.00 TPMS rebuild for each law. He mention it was the law (lies). There are no state laws that states that. If there is, please show me the law.. I appreciate the No-BS answer from Grant. Full transparency. He was alittle more honest about why it is more expensive when mounting tires from a 3rd party vs buying from them. It's a business. You have to make money on the labor and product... But to increase from 22 to 51 (mount, dismount, disposal,TPMS 40+3+8) for just mounting and dismounting is a gouging...Given that I called in about 2 weeks ago...the price was about the 22.00 per tire (includes everything)... So if you bring in tires for installation, unmount, mount price will be increase by 100%. If you buy their tires (marked up compare to other companies), the price for unmount and mount hasnt change. What irritate me the most was the response from Jose. Grant-the manager was honest of why he has to charge more. No problem. My advice for Jose...stop making up store policy on the fly.... Be honest and upfront. In the end, Grant offer an out of the door price of $140.00 for unmount/mount/disposable/TPMS for 4 tires. I mention I will pass for now. TPMS change out for no charge...but they marked up the fees for the other procedures. Encounter with Grant. Professional. Gave me a reason why for the increase for customers bringing in their own tires. There is no state law regarding TPMS rebuild kit being mandatory. Thats the only thing that perturbed me. Show me the state, federal law. Show me corporate policy. I had tires for an SUV changed out weeks ago... There was no TPMS charge...because I declined...and you guys didnt push the issue any further. Encounter with JOSE: Deceptive. Just be honest..You're not authorize to make up corporate policy... e.g. "We charge everyone more, because labor went up". LIES. I called.Horse manure!! I've plan to still do business with Discount Tires....but not this particular store. I've had positive experiences in the past at ALL Discount Tires shop.
