  • For being immigrants and clearly having a known history of experience hate crimes (their store has been vandalized and graffiti-ed before). They themselves can be slightly racist. Being of Vietnamese descent, obviously I stand out a bit in a line of predominantly Mexican and Caucasian customers looking to buy tacos from their outdoor cart. They make it a point to bring it up EVERY god damn time I am there. Talking in spanish (which they do not know I can understand having grew up in Atlantic City, a cultural hub full of ethnicities. Having some very good friends of Dominican, Puertorican, Mexican, and Venezuelan descent and taken up to level 4 advanced spanish in High school) about how this "chino" really likes tacos and that its such a spectacle. And I know they're not just flattered that a non-Mexican likes tacos, they just think the concept is funny and amusing to them. And once, they had the nerve to make remarks like "ching chong" to my face, expecting me to fin it funny. Regardless, despite the rude and insulting service, they still get a 3 because their tacos are amazing, along with their salsa bar. But god damn, have some class.
