  • I stayed at Motel 6 for two nights, with my two boys. We had two rooms - a standard double for the boys and a deluxe Queen for me. The first thing that I want to say is that Motel 6 has the best employees. For this trip, I wound up dealing with both their corporate "Guest Services" and people at the location itself. (I kind of messed up my reservation lol) They are just the nicest bunch of people! Even though the mistake was MY fault, they fixed it and are going to issue a refund! I certainly didn't expect that, but it was awesome since everything I do is on a budget. The location had called me because I missed my check-in and the lady who called wanted to make sure everything was ok. It wasn't a "You screwed up call" - it was a "We hope everything is ok" call. Who does that?? Guest Services acted like it was no big deal that I had messed up - the very nice lady just fixed everything, ordered the refund, and confirmed my reservations. Then I got a call from the location again, just re-confirming everything because of the cancellations (for the mistake) to make sure they had the most-current information. When we arrived (at 10pm), the young lady at the desk was also just as nice as could be and got us checked into our rooms in no time at all. The rooms were very clean quite comfortable. This is a budget motel, so there was nothing fancy about the rooms, but we didn't need fancy. We just needed clean and comfortable, in a good location for our weekend event. The motel has paid wi-fi ($4.99 for premium, $2.99 for standard), BUT if you use your AARP card at check-in (discount!) you get FREE standard wi-fi. It's not a huge savings, but a discount is a discount, right? The first thing that struck me about the rooms were the laminate floors. No carpet here - laminate. It seemed odd at first, but after watching housekeeping cleaning the floors, it makes perfect sense. The only drawback to it is that people walking in the rooms above while wearing hard-soled shoes sounded like they were tap-dancing. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to request one of the upstairs rooms. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. Nice LED television on the wall, with a decent selection of channels. Plenty of clean towels and hot water. Three pillows! Budget motel - that means limited amenities in the rooms. You get soap, but no shampoo, lotion, etc. No big deal for me because I always take my own, just in case. But my boys didn't think to pack their shampoo, so we had to make a stop at a store to get them some. They'll learn. My room had the microwave and fridge, which was nice. No coffee pots or hairdryers in the rooms, but I knew that ahead of time. There's an Original Pancake House right next door - literally steps from the front office, and there's free coffee in the morning at the office, too. The motel is easy to get to, but can be easy to miss. There's not a big, lighted sign. We missed it the first time we drove by and had to turn around. Look for the "6" next to the Lazy-Boy store. The motel is on a main street, but I didn't notice any traffic noise. Of course, our rooms were towards the back, so I can't speak to how it would be in a room closer to the front office. Overall, I found this to be a very nice place in a very convenient location. I would definitely stay here again.
