Most shitty experience. I booked this weeks ago. My husband comes from Seattle to Az. Takes 3 buses to get to the car rental shop because they are too cheap to have shuttles for the passengers. He doesn't have a credit card, but in the fine lines that wasn't a problem. All he had to do is pay $200 deposit. Well so we thought. We were fine with the deposit and ready for it, but Budget never told us that they were going to run a credit check, which they said was way too low.. 6.5 is average not low and really for a dumb ass car rental, why do you care about credit. We were quoted a great price at $80 for 4 days. hahah right
But, now that they wouldn't rent to him even with a deposit because of scores that weren't mentioned in the fine lines of the rules. He was asked to go down the street to a private person that Budget sends to them on the people that don't pass a credit check. Of course the price is now $367.. Seriously, BUDGET GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. If you are going to run a credit check on someone for using a debit card make sure you put that is large letters or even mention it at all in the fine lines. We had the cash in the bank to pay for the car, but yet you wouldn't take the $200 deposit that you said you would do on a debit card.
With no shuttles provided, he hoped back on a bus to find a new place. This is such bullshit. We will never use you again and will make sure we tell family and friends how horrible customer service you have.
Marketing you really need to get their shit together and make sure before people fly in from other states and countries that all rules are up front and obvious. If you are going to write you will take a deposit, then you best take the card it's coming from.
