Saturday afternoon near 90 and insomnia lead my husband and I along with our toddler over to this place to get some ice cream and get out the house.
I've had this place bookmarked for sometime and never made our way over until today. The door says KEEP DOOR SHUT & I do understand why. This place is so small if you sneeze you are in the back behind the counter. Small is good for me in this case as people get what they need and leave out. Immediately to the right is the wall with all the toppings, Flavors of in house made ice cream and shaved ice Flavors on a whiteboard.
The staff is friendly (teenagers) and happy to help by allowing you to get a taste of the many Flavors you may be considering. I tried the pistachio, lemon meringue pie and butter pecan in which I ended up with a waffle cone with two scoops one lemon meringue and one butter pecan. My husband had the lemon meringue and strawberry as he tried those plus banana.
Because we LOVE the lemon meringue ice cream back in my hometown of Chicago at our creamery which we have had 15times this summer on various trips back. The lemon meringue here was Meh I mean it may be AMAZING to some who never had it back in Chicago or somewhere amazing. The cone I had was great however my husband cone was lighter and wasn't as sweet so our son only ate my cone.
To be homemade ice cream it's good and I look forward to trying the shaved ice one day.
Note: David G. Barnes park is next to this place you can either exit the creamery and make a left on the sidewalk or go right and walk around back and you will approach the skate park first and go right to run into the child park with swings and such.. Good Fun
