  • While wandering to the subway this morning after a night of tequila and vodka-- I needed some coffee. More accurately-- an Americano. I usually go to Second Cup because their espresso is fabulous and there's always a delightfully thick layer of Crema on top. But I was just too lazy to cross the street. So Bulldog it was. The first thing I noticed was the sign on the register saying "cash only". Oh dear, not sure if I have cash-- this could be a pre coffee disaster. Luckily, after rummaging all was fine. Instead of asking if I wanted it run through, she brought hot water and asked me how much I wanted. Too much to consider this early, this hungover and this in need of caffeine. Espresso was decent, but I still prefer Second Cup and probably wouldn't go back again. Plus, a double Americano at Second cup is about $2.50. This one was $3.00.
