I should have come to this patisserie earlier had I known their baked goods are as awesome as their cakes. I was always interested in coming here ever since my sister bought me a birthday cake from Duo, only problem is the patisserie closes early and the only time I come here when it's opened is during lunch from work for congee queen- but it's in the other side of the building making the trek to the Duo a bit time annoying. Anyways the cake my sister bought was probably one of the few cakes I really enjoyed, and for those who know me I I'm not a huge fan of cakes as I prefer pie, flans or something less sweet. Anyways I dropped by this place right before closing on a Sunday, to my disappointment coming 10 minutes before closing means I only get to choose 3 types of brioches or a lemon tart. The 3 brioches looked equally yummy, a cheese , cinnamon or a citrus brioche. I asked the cashier her reccomendation and end up with the citrus brioche. Boy was the brioche ever flaky, I was hoping for a butter croissant but this is equally flaky and buttery and zesty from the hint of lemon. I would say the it's is on par or even better than most of the better known bakeries in downtown Toronto or Montreal. For sure I will drop by again to try the other pastries. However this time I will come early when the store just open up to try their baked goodness.
