I'm going to go slightly Foodist here...BUT, this is a great place for folks who don't know Mexican food. Street tacos are their claim to fame..good..yes..expensive..yes. Flavors? They remind of someone who is throwing things in at the last minute in attempts to cover up mistakes. I ordered the shrimp taco, which included rubberized cooked shrimp which tasting without the mess of toppings was flavorless ( I think it was $5 which was $4.75 more than it should have cost.) The tortillas just don't have that vibe of authenticity you can get from about 1000 other places in Phoenix. I know I'm in the minority here but the food is just not worth the wait, (it's the Applebee's of a Friday night place)
Yes it's an old church, which does not improve food. The surfaces of the interior are all hard surfaces, coupled with folks ability to play DJ, the vibe is more 'hey look at this place I found' vs. 'I want to show you some great food/time that phoenix has'
