  • TL;DR: Service is good, sushi tastes weird, smells fishy. Went here last night craving sushi and wanting to try something new. The staff and service was good, the sushi was not. I would literally rather get sushi from the grocery store. I ordered the Alaskan combo and I can't say that any part of it was good. One roll was too sweet, the other had too much cream cheese making the consistency really mushy and gross. I returned it ultimately because a big chunk of skin was left on the salmon. I've never had such a strange combination before. A few other things we ordered were also really fishy smelling/tasting (like the Escobar). The only good one was the Lion King roll. The front staff was nice and they reimbursed about half my order which was nice. They even offered to remake the salmon skin roll which I declined. I don't think I'll be coming back to Masa again.
